It's been a slow week on the blog front - we've been focused on the baby, getting out and about and haven't had much time to blog. We're starting to get used to the baby thing a bit more so should start updating again more...
Marcus' sleeping is improving steadily - every day is still pretty random and there's not much consistency but there are some common elements - 3-5 hour sleep at night, followed by short feed, then 3 more hours sleep. So we're starting to get more restful nights, and we were told at the Plunket centre in Lyall Bay that he clearly distinguishes between night and day now.
A source of frustration for Shelley is the lack of consistency in feeding - some days will be 4 huge feeds, others 10 really small feeds. He's also getting more fussy in his feeds.
Big trips out this week included: a session with the cranial osteopath; a trip to the Plunket centre to see how we're going with the feeding (he's putting on weight so everything is definitely going well, and boy is he putting on the weight!); and going to the Shoe Clinic so dad could buy some new running shoes.
He got to meet his paternal grandparents, which was great as it gave us a chance to spend some time together as we went out for lunch for a couple of hours. Mum also went out to a wedding for a coupld of hours on Saturday - her first chance to do something for herself in over five weeks (or in over 10 months, depending on how you look at it!).
Our big milestone this week is me (Karl) going back to work. I'm looking forward to it in some ways, but am not looking forward to it in many others...
A blog site for Shelley and Karl to update friends and family on them and the boys.
