Last Thursday our little baby came back. He seemed to stop teething and the issues around starting solids seemed to resolve themselves. He's now back to being what he was like four weeks ago, with a couple of two hour naps during the day and long sleeps at night. The last two nights have seen an 8-hour and 3-hour block of sleep each night.
But there have also been big changes. We're noticing he's interacting with us a lot more (starting to manipulate us as well?). He has a little cloth book with pictures on that we've tried showing him in the past. He's never really paid attention to it. Until Sunday, when he was lying on the floor in the lounge and laid it out in front of himself, turning the page back on forth to look at the pictures.
And with lots of rest he's now a happy baby. And a happy, rested baby, means happy, rested parents.
A blog site for Shelley and Karl to update friends and family on them and the boys.

for a seven month old how long should they be up after their sleeps during the day?
When Marcus was seven months old he was still having two naps a day. We aimed for the first nap to start 3 hours after he woke up (so nap at 9am). He'd usually sleep for an hour. Then the next nap would be between 3-4 hours later, depending on how he was going, how tired he seemed. Again, he'd sleep about an hour. Then we'd look to do the night-time routine so that he was down in bed by 7.30pm at the latest.
BUT every baby is different. We know babies who have 2 two-hour naps per day - that would be fantastic!
At the moment Marcus is shifting from 2 to 1 nap a day, so it's all a bit uncertain in terms of routine.
