Marcus loves meat

But Marcus wants more than veges. He would do well in France, with a love for horse meat coming through already.

Marcus has started solid food in the last couple of weeks. It's been hard work - he's got a sensitive stomach and it causes him a bit of grief later in the day. But the great thing is he loves it - he can't get enough of it at the moment, which is a couple of teaspoons at lunchtime of carrot, or pumpkin, or kumara.

Last week Marcus got a couple of new things - a great new highchair (a Svan, recommended by our great friends Christine and Glen) and a toy to play with on the highchair. He's certainly looking like a big boy now, compared to six months ago!

Sleepless nights and tired days

It's been a couple of weeks since our last post. Our reason for that is, as the title says, sleepless nights and tired days.

Marcus celebrated his 6 month birthday recently. However, we've all been too tired to really enjoy it - his fourth and fifth teeth have come through. He now has three down below and two up top. So he went through a period of waking three times a night. Then when that ended (on Sunday night this week), we had one night of only one wake-up before the third MenZB vaccine. This meant a good night's sleep followed by a very upset baby. Which wasn't helped by mum needing to visit the after-hours medical centre (and with some antibiotics is now doing nicely) which meant a very late night for Marcus.

So mum and dad are exhausted and ready for a good sleep!
But Marcus is fantastic. He's lovely and bouncy (tired at times) and so much more alert and playful. We'll post some pictures this weekend of his first time in his new high-chair, which he got last weekend.

Marcus has also started solids. He loves pumpkin and carrot, is okay with pear, really likes banana but it upsets his system terribly, and doesn't like avocado.

Erraticism

We've had an erratic few days which went from the highs of Monday night - down to sleep at 7.30pm, awake at 7.00am - to the lows of Tuesday night - asleep at 8.00pm, awake at 2.45am, asleep at 4.30am, awake at 7.00am.

We suspect his teeth may be giving Marcus some grief. And with all the feeding he's doing, we suspect there's some growing going on in that little body.

Keeping you all up to date!

Well it's been a good couple of weeks since we last posted - sorry for the delay. There's some new photos below, so you can see Marcus is doing really well. He's got more teeth coming through and is growing really well.

I've seen from our visitor statistics that we're getting lots of visits (about 20 a week) so we need to keep updating more!

Marcus moved up to a big boy's carseat this week. He's also getting lots of wear out of all of his handmade woolen tops knitted by aunties and friends - they've been great and the envy of all of our friends! As has the handmade playmat.

Anyway a big hello from the three of us to you all!

Marcus was in a good mood today. He's been a bit cranky the last week and hasn't been sleeping too well. We found out why today - his third tooth is starting to come through, so a fourth should soon be on its way.

Marcus has several home-made 'cube' toys of different sizes. I think he bit off more than he could chew when he grabbed this one!

Marcus has his sneakers on ready to go. Although he's not quite used to wearing them - he kicked one off just after the photo was taken!
