Enjoying the swing
Dad took today off work. So mum, dad and Marcus went to the Botanic Gardens to look at the tulips and the magnolias and to check out the playground. Marcus likes the swing! Or, at least, he doesn't not like it.
Learning to count
Marcus has a couple of books he likes to 'read'. The bright pictures are fun, and the feel of the books makes them interesting.
Daddy, you stink!
Marcus came to watch Dad run over in Carterton recently. He wasn't too interested in dad's post-race analysis.
Marcus, Rhonda and David
Aunty Rhonda and Uncle David recently stayed in Wellington and got to meet Marcus. Because they were in town, mum and dad got a babysitter (Jolene and Brendan) and mum and dad got to go out for a fantastic dinner. It was great!

Sleepy nights and wakeful days
Last Thursday our little baby came back. He seemed to stop teething and the issues around starting solids seemed to resolve themselves. He's now back to being what he was like four weeks ago, with a couple of two hour naps during the day and long sleeps at night. The last two nights have seen an 8-hour and 3-hour block of sleep each night.
But there have also been big changes. We're noticing he's interacting with us a lot more (starting to manipulate us as well?). He has a little cloth book with pictures on that we've tried showing him in the past. He's never really paid attention to it. Until Sunday, when he was lying on the floor in the lounge and laid it out in front of himself, turning the page back on forth to look at the pictures.
And with lots of rest he's now a happy baby. And a happy, rested baby, means happy, rested parents.
