Yesterday was a big day for Marcus - his carseat was turned around to face forwards. He was pretty chuffed! When we put him down in the new direction he had a big smile on his face and can now see dad when he's driving and the top of the back of mum's head!
A blog site for Shelley and Karl to update friends and family on them and the boys.

Getting ready for xmas
Marcus has transformed in the last week. We've made the move to solid meals before breastfeeds. At the same time (or maybe because of this) , a lot of the troubles he's had with his stomach seem to have resolved. He no longer wakes up in the middle of the night screaming and in pain from a sore tummy before doing lots of painful sounding farts.
His movement has changed - a week ago he could move forward maybe 10cms. Now it's his direction of choice - he rolls around to get in the right direction and then 'commando' crawls his way forward. He's been testing himself on his hands and knees through the week.
He's very chatty and knows when dad has got home, and gives me lots of kisses.
This will be our first xmas. We're going to pop up to New Plymouth for a couple of days to visit his grandparents up there before a couple of weeks holiday in Wellington. He will be getting a few toys from Santa this year, but next year will be his first big xmas. We're very excited!

Marcus checks his policy credentials
In the end Marcus decided he needed to get a head-start on his peers and be up with the latest in policy. So he's selected some light reading for the weekend. Hopefully he'll be earning enough soon in a policy job that mum and dad won't have to work anymore.
Marcus does some reading
Marcus has started to crawl and is getting into everything. Today mum caught him at dad's bookcase, looking for something to read. Postmodernism for Beginners didn't interest him, but the biography of Ronald Hugh Morrieson clearly did.
Marcus and Jo
Jo was recently in town, on her way to Dunedin to get married. She thought she'd check out the single guys one last time! Marcus was very cute that day (as he is every day).
